Charles Cefalu has been involved in the Real Estate and Financial Services Industry for the past 20 years. �He is committed to Community Service having served as a past Treasurer and Board Member of a Downtown Business Improvement District, Member of the Board of Directors and Fundraising Chairperson of a Local School and various other not for profit Organizations. �Charles Cefalu believes in volunteerism and giving back to the Community.� � Charles Cefalu served as the CEO of a Specialty Finance Company and developed an extensive national sales force with multiple branch offices. �He also grew the Company to become the number one broker of a specific mortgage product. �He also developed a National direct marketing campaign later adding a Telesales Division thereby creating substantial growth for the Company. � Charles Cefalu has over thirteen years experience in mortgage banking having underwritten, funded and traded individual residential, commercial and land mortgages and portfolios on the secondary market with institutional clients that included consumer finance companies, community banks, insurance companies, private equity funds, REIT?s and private investors.� � Charles Cefalu was also responsible for managing the collection and servicing of a large mortgage portfolio as well as sales and the disposition of foreclosed real estate (REO) on a national basis. � During this same period of time, Charles Cefalu was actively involved in the capital markets by promoting both private placement and public offerings of debt and equity securities. Mr. Cefalu spent much of his time focusing on Urban Revitalization. He actively researched and pursued the many stimulus incentives available such as Economic Grants and Tax Credit Incentives that include: Federal and State Historic, New Markets and Energy Tax Credits for real estate development projects on behalf of his property owners and Real Estate Clients.

Joined the Board of Directors to assist the School at a time when enrollment in Catholic Schools was declining and talented business minded individuals were needed to develop a Strategic Plan to reverse the trend. For 2 years, I assumed the position of Fundraising Chairperson and oversaw the many fundraising events for the School to raise additional monies to ease some Budget constraints. Fundraising activities successfully raised in excess of $160,000 during School Year. I also proudly became a Financial Donor in the Cornerstone Capital Program.

I became a new Member of the Board in 2011. I will be attending regional meetings to discuss important legislative issues as it relates to the Real Estate Industry and represent the interests of the local Board of Realtors and my fellow real estate professionals. I wanted to get involved because there are things going on at the State level that could really adversely impact the real estate business in New York State.
